This idea that men are all rapists has become more and more widespread (well, it has always been around, but now we notice), and unfortunately a lot of young men aren't helping matters when they use rape as a threat in online gaming and such. They may not mean it, but on top of that a lot of men use "Well, I'm a man, and that's just how we are" as an excuse for cheating, indicating they have no control over their sex drive. And that have had some pretty bad consequences for men (as well as women, but we're talking about men this time).
Because these days people don't just think "Rape = Raping women" but also "Rape = Raping children" so in a lot of kindergartens and other places for children men aren't allowed to be alone with the kids "Because you never know". Even a father has to watch out or people might suspect him of raping his children. And it has gotten so bad that other men think the same, even though they themselves would never dream of raping anyone.
The green shirt guy in the comic is one of them. He has never raped anyone, but he just knows it's going to happen one day because he has a penis.
So I advice people not to blame any actions on their own or other's penis, tempting and easy as it may be. It will not lead to anything good.
EDIT: Pfff! I don't mean men think of themselves as rapists, but of other men as rapists. It's just the green shirt guy who is overdoing it a little.
Just alot of men
enough men women have had to deal with.
They don't actually think everything with a penis is evil
This is still funny though
Where I live, (united states), that is sadly happening more and more... on both sides. Women who feel "empowered" by the equality have actually tried to use the argument "he was erect, it couldn't be rape" in court. But, men can be just as perverse in that "she should not have dressed like a prostitute then" excuse. A family was arrested and their three kids were taken from them for having naked bath time photos of their 5, 3, and 1 year old in a tub together on vacation. It took 2 months to get out of jail, 2 more months to get the oldest two children home and 2 years to get the youngest one back.
Either way... no means no... but people need to learn to say no, and have the good judgment not to think a drunken or impaired person throwing themselves at you is a yes...
Sad sad state of things today. There is even a college that began requiring affirmation of consent or it was rape... you may not kiss with out asking?! SOO to all of those boys and girls out there who want a nice romantic hand hold and a kiss in the theater or along the walk in the park... you are out of luck! To me this says from the "authority" writing it.... "GET ON YOUR KNEES AND BEG FOR AFFECTION" Really?! How much of a control freak are you? My thoughts... See ya!
No offense but the message of this comic is poorly delivered.
It's sad there's this stupid cultural message going around regarding rape. It's almost as if some males can't afford to trust themselves because other males are so convincing in their fear that they're going to rape someone. It's hysteria, plain and simple. And you'll recall how hysteria was resolved in women during the Victorian period...
I love your art style, btw. How do you draw it? What materials and tools do you use? What is your process? (I'm nosy)
Its a satire. The man in green is made to be ridiuclous because he's yelling at a totally innocent dude who's kinda "what the cluck?"
We can't push our views on other people that don't have our "views" issues, nor can we make a blanket accusation on the group and stereotype without addressing the problem of the action, versus the actor. If you focus too much on the person and more of just what choices they willing tak--*is shot for explaining more*
Thanks humon -3-
So i say good comic :3
I absolutely love this drawing and its message, Humon! I am an illustrator that uses male nudes in my artwork and have experienced the double standard that our society lives by when it comes to artistic nudity. I’ve been turned away from certain coffee shops and bars because my art sometimes features male genitalia. None of my nudes are engaging in any sexual activity and are not erect. I feel that my art is always very body positive and celebrates a natural male form. However it seems that the female nude in art is much more acceptable than male nude. I don’t know whether this is because women’s bodies have been objectified for many years ? Maybe people feel a sense of vulnerability or insecurity when they see a male nude? Maybe it’s an American hang-up because I know that depictions of a male nude in other countries are much more acceptable. I find it sad because men suffer from the same body shaming that women do. I think artists such as yourself are shedding light on an issue that needs to be addressed and I appreciate it. Never censor yourself, Humon! Keep up the great work. <3
I thought What could YOU possibly do to me? I was worried about my food not your dick
and i guess he would know. . .
I think it's utter bullshit for a man to say he can't control himself. and I mean, what do they think that gets them anyway? I'd kicked anyone who used that lame ass excuse for cheating on someone, much less RAPE.
And if they actually convinced me that was true, then it would be MY opinion that all men should have to make a sperm donation to a sperm bank once they hit puberty, and then have their dicks cut off immidietly afterwards.
And cut off other peoples genitals is just hate. Would you like to cutted of your genitals? Not all men are evil itīs just a stereotype...
