For the uncensored (and slightly bigger) version, go to my site humoncomics.com/and-they-dance…
Also, if you want a list of the creatures appearing in the picture, that's on my site too.
During the Victorian era it became popular to imagine all the Nordic folklore creatures partying together in the hills of the elves. It's something I've always wanted to draw, and I finally did!
There's a lot of stories about humans stumbling upon a party like this, being invited in for a dance, but running away.
Now, just wondering, would you accept their invitation to dance if you stumbled upon them?
I know I would! You know, if this doesn't fall into the same category as when they dance you to death.
They remind me of the Spring Sprite from Fantasia 2000 in her water form and her plant form (I'm going by color, not whether these are their actual forms, before anyone tries to point that out to me). I imagine their dancing movements are very fluid looking (you know, because of how they look), and thus be a sight to behold.
The nisse and the bog woman are a close second, because watching them dance with their size differences would probably be amazing to see too. Plus, his outfit looks adorable, and I love the way her skirt is moving.
the troll tougher, they just look so sweet.
Still a great picture as always, I love your folklore and mythology so if it's the only way to get it on dA I'll still have it
