And the cake was pink by humon And the cake was pink by humon
For more of this character [link]

Inspired by a mix of stories different trans-boys have told me.

Nothing is more important than supportive parents. Mind you, it's probably ten times easier for Niels because he never knew Magnus as a girl, so he didn't have to mentally change his idea of Magnus from "My daughter" to "My son".

EDIT: I had hoped I didn't have to explain it, but the point is that Niels screwed up the size, but because he gave Magnus a gift that show he support him, Magnus still prefer it over all the other gifts even though he can't really use it.

I cried a little at this one, but in a good way.  Thank you.

I am a cisgender girl, and yet I have always hated the pink, the frilly, and the girly. So in Magnus' place, I would not be happy either.

What's a binder?

Something a person would wear to bind their breasts down and make them seem flat chested

Thats a wonderful piece. Even though I can't relate personally, I love these kinds of pictures because they make me feel...I don't know, just really good inside. I hope that everyone in this type of situation has support like this. It's absolutely wonderful.

I got it without reading the explanation! *collects cookie points*

Yay, trans characters! Love your art, as always. <3

I didn't even get that he got it in the wrong size part. I just assumed that he was getting him ready for the future.
Still awesome though!

Just about how I'd feel if my dad gave me a binder (even if it was too big) :) And it's right as you say in the description, Humon, nothing is more important than supportive parents.
I'm so happy you made a character I can properly relate to, and that you know to refer to him by the proper pronouns! I hope to see so much more of him in the future :) FtM guys for the win!

Very sweet :) I've got to look up more of this character!
GalacticGoat Featured By Owner Mar 25, 2013  Hobbyist General Artist
;n; aww, this is sweet. But yeah I know that feel. Its been a slow transition getting people used to the whole trans idea so I'm overjoyed when gifts reflect and understanding of it rather then pink on pink on pink which is honestly pathetic women have to deal with that but made worse when you're a man getting that stuff repeatedly.
Shinigamiwing2003 Featured By Owner Mar 25, 2013
I've been in this same exact situation. Except it wasn't a parent who was supportive, it was my friends.
My parents aren't supportive, my family isn't supportive. But my friends, my chosen family? They support me to a million percent!
I've even got a few friends, who I've made after coming out, who have told me they can't EVER picture me as female. That I've been male for as long as they've known me.
That's family. That's support. That's love.

It's meant to flatten boobs down so it doesn't look like they're there at all
dweebzilla Featured By Owner Jun 2, 2013  Student Digital Artist
No no, it doesn't flatten them to make them not there. It flattens them to the shape of pecs.

Man, I wish my dad was that supportive. He would freak if he knew. Anyway, I really like this comic.
IndigoVelvet Featured By Owner Nov 26, 2012  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
I absolutely love this comic. I work with women with eating disorders, and I can't tell you how many unsupportive parents I've had the displeasure of working with. Any message about the importance of supporting the ones you love - no matter what the topic (sexuality, addiction recovery, acceptance of failures) is really touching, and you captured it beautifully.

Oh my godddd, such a lovely strip. ;;
I love supportive parents. I have personal issues involving unsupportive parents, and it's always nice to see those stories who have parents who are there for their kids, no matter what.
