Animal Lives 2 by humon Animal Lives 2 by humon
You can buy the first booklet here [link]

I'm working on the second Animal Lives book, and here's one of the pictures.

Let's try a little something this time.
Can you guess what animal this is supposed to be?

Hint: It's not humans.

Bees. Bees are male by default, but the eggs that get fertilized become female.

Gorillas? Cos I think they partner up for life... and actually, 50% of their children have a different father. So their "monogamy" is more of a partnerhood rather than only-mates-for-life... Just a guess

I was thinking it is clown fish too .. but it cant ( well i don't think so anyway).  there is one female and males.. if the female dies the  main male becomes female. there are two females in the picture.

I guess this has to do with INFANTICIDE, if you look to the boy's face asking "Me? Why?"

Lions, gerbils and langurs are most likley to commit infanticide, according to Wikipedia.

But I discard lion, cause the female here is bigger than the male.

SO I bet on gerbils and langurs

I going to guess that it's a species in which the mothers regularly cheat on their mates or something?

:iconemperor-zim:

I'm guessing this because the father isn't holding hands with his "son".
Reply
:iconemperor-zim:

I've got it! It's lions, because the father and the son are as far away from each other as possible, and the son is wondering who his real father is! (or should I say, was)

Given that the female is larger I am going to bet on some kind of raptor - eagle or hawk or something along those lines.

cockroaches. They live on an XO sex determination scheme so the non fertilized eggs become male while the fertilized eggs become female. The female cockroach is larger than the male counterpart.
