Some of my favorite pictures from my trip to Copenhagen Zoo.

The two seagulls seem to have a very "Come along Igor" "Yes master" kind of relationship. :XD:
(They are two different types of seagull, not mother/child or male/female. And no, they weren't part of the zoo)

Bonus info: The tiger in the picture is no less than a man-eater. A week before I took the photo a man decided to commit suicide by crawling into their cage at night, and was found partly eaten the next day.

Am I going to be too animal geeky when correcting you on the fact that those seagull are most likely to be of the same species, but just parent child? ^^; They appear to me like European herring gulls, with the grey white one being an adult: [link] and the other a first or second year juvenile: [link] :)

Seagulls and magpies in a zoo? In their own enclosures? Are they that uncommon in Denmark?

When I think of racism and bigotry I sit back and think "We may look different and we may have different cultures but we share the same animals in our zoos."
It gets me through dealing with my family.

Those are the same kind of seagull. The tawny one is a juvenile, they grow out of the brown feathers and dark bill. They could possibly be mother/child but from what I've seen the young one is a couple of years old and independent by that point. They still sort of stand around stupidly and whistle/squeak through their beak for attention though.

I'm no expert, I just live in Aberdeen and seagulls are like our pigeons. They're everywhere. They are also HUGE and SCARY. But I digress.

Both look like herring gulls to me. It's the pink legs.

I'm only looking at that little picture though, and like I said, I am no ornithologist. :)

Where I live there are hundreds of them, and the browns are definitely the babies. You can tell cos around this time of year there are loads of them standing around or following adults whistling uselessly. You can also tell they're youg because they get squished considerably more often. They don't seem to understand.

Great photos! Especially like the one of the mongoose lurking. Sounds yummy the fact about the tiger.
At my place our cheethas tried to get out of the zoo two times this year. So they were suddenly seen outside the zoo walls :XD: Years ago a little lynx escaped and all caretakers were so proud when they found out that the little one still knows how to haunt though he's born in a cage. I wonder if our wolves managed to flee. They always say that there are three wolves, but nobody has seen them in years.

They are not part of the exhibition, but free birds, seagulls are the most common land bird in Denmark. When the farmer plows the field there is a cloud of them around the tractor. Think Hitchcock.
