Fake Fans by humon Fake Fans by humon
My site [link]

Before you go "How dare you make fun of bronies for liking something different!?" I'm not.

I'm making fun of the whole idea of there being fake fans of anything. Who excactly decides how or why people should like a thing?

That is actually a really good point, my brother was a brony but fell out it when he realized how fake and showboaty some of the other fans were.

this is very ironic because I saw a grown man call a 4 year old girl a "fake fan" for buying an equestria girls doll.

Oh, man... Really? :|  If I'd seen that I'd have butted right in on that and told the girl she IS a fan, and then take the guy aside and teach him some manners!

...No, really. He obviously hadn't been taught any before.

..What did you think I meant beat him up? GOODNESS NO! I am a gentleman! =P

Joking aside, as a HUGE Brony- that's totally not cool, and I would have probably forgotten my own manners while saying something to the jerk (out of earshot of the 4 yo of course.).

Which I find to be silly. Some customers deserve to be yelled at, lol. It should be case-by-case.

I love the idea of this.  I really do. But I have see a "fake fan." Or more so they just like it because everyone else did.

My sister. During the twilight dark ages, all my sister's friends were obsessed. They love it. So, she decided to love it too. She never read the books, but bought the movie, tried watching it once and never made it through. I'm not a fan either but I did read the first (and somewhat of the second) one, so I would ask her like her favorite character or part, she would be like, I dunno who is all in. But claimed she LOVED twilight.

So yea, I get what you are saying, she had every right to like twilight in anyway she wanted to, but she truly was only claiming to like it because all her friends were.

I still don't understand what the problem is though. If she claims to like it, let her. I don't get why people have to prove they love something. I mean, you obviously knew she didn't like it that much, but so what? No harm comes out of it (:

No harm except I had to watch the bloody film every day though she wasn't around to watch it, but would yell at me if I wanted to change it.

She never had to prove it and she was allowed to like it, but I'm stating there is such a thing as a fake fan. That doesn't mean she can't do what she wanted with it, but she obv. had only interest in it because it was the popular thing to like.
