The Faroe Islands are almost all mountains, but not a single one of them has a tree on it, so a lot of young Faroese children get a huge "Wow!" moment when they visits places like Norway or Sweden.

The climate of Faroe islands simply can't afford a lot of forests

You should draw Prussia getting excited about a hill and calling it a tall mountain.

I grew up around nature and still feel like this every time I see a forest. XD Every time my girlfriend and I decide where to go out, I mention a forest at least once.

D'aw! Faroe is adorbs in this. & :iconcrb-art: Don't hate their traditions. It's how they've survived all these years. The Inuit still hunt seals for their meat and such to this day. It may be sick to us but to them we're probably the sick ones.

I'm not hating at all, i just feel as if there's no excuse for it in my opinion and it's unnecessary.

I find this quite ironic how they're fascinated by the whale but the Faroe Islands and it's residents are known for their sickening tradition of slaughtering hundreds of whales every year.

Hey. Faroese person here. Just  quick question:
What exactly is sickening about this particular slaughter, compared to any other slaughter and/or hunt?

Nothing at all, I find all animal slaughter sickening.
Well, I mean beaching them and cutting their spines out is a little brutal but I'm sure every slaughter house is just as brutal.

The cutting of their spines gives them a death as painless as possible.
But yeah, fair enough. We just have a difference of opinion then. :P

I like to make sure that people do at least know what it is they're calling sickening. I have literally seen people claim that we hack them with axes for a bit and then let them bleed to death. Misinformation isn't good for either side of the question.

Oh no no, i've read a lot about the Faroe Islands and i know that only about 2% of the land is fertile so i can see your point. Just a difference of opinion.

I love living in Northern Ontario (Canada).  There are SO MANY TREES.  I've seen photos of mountains without trees but I've never seen one in real life.  I love this comic.  It illustrates how different our experiences are.  Oh, no pun intended.

my family gets exited about ANY nature and they stop like every five seconds to take a picture when we go camping so we never get to go rock clibing which im there for, it drives me nuts, but i like how you incorporated the geography, its really cool how you have done this for so long along with other comics and drawing, all of them so very well done!

I grew up in the American MidWest - not what you would normally consider a greatly forested area.  When I was in the military, I was stationed in San Antonio, Texas, which is just desert as far as the eye can see.  I accepted an invitation to go hiking in a state park.  We went out and ate fried chicken at a picnic table and I'm just like: ' . . . it's all desert.'  So he says: 'Let's go for a hike.' So we hike out about three miles and I'm like: 'I can still see the car.'  Long story short, when I was transferred to Fort Gordon, Georgia - which is in the middle of a pine forest - I was almost rubbing up against the glass, moaning: 'Treeeeeeeeeeees!'

because Germany is his neighbor.

In defense of Germany though, it's Denmark's fault for sharing a border with Germany... and for dressing provactively

I grew up in the New York/New Jersey area which is mountainous and forested for the most part. Then I went on a internship in the Southern part of Colorado which is flat and desert. I was very scared by the abundance of open space and lack of foliage. I kept feeling like something was going to get me. Not to mention I went camping in the desert and it RAINED. The one night I was there it rained! So unfair.

Reminds me of that trip to Seattle with some friends from places like Texas and Florida - while me and another friend were from just down south, in Oregon....[except me and the other guy from Oregon were much less "nature is so lovely....", and much more "damn these annoying taxes on all these already expensive things!"
