The Priest has chosen a pilgrimage to the East, where it is rumored that the remains of a saint lay. He is doing this as a private sort of penance for his own, inner crimes of impure thoughts.

The Monk has been sent to bring a message from one temple to another, a dangerous mission- others will conspire to take this message, and as such he is prepared for battle.

Their meeting was chance, and somewhat confused. Immediately each recognized the other as a sort of priest- after all, they have both robes, and prayer beads. And through a sort of signing it is made clear that the Priest is looking for something holy- a noble quest, to the Monks eyes.

That's all I have now, but I could do more.

What is that? A rock you say?

I don't know their names, but i feel like the catholic monk is praying that there really isn't anything in the bushes where they heard a rustling and the buddhist is getting ready to find out for himself. XD
And yes. he is having quite sinful thoughts and hides them badly, but because of the language barrier, the buddhist hasn't caught on yet. If he does, he probably wouldn't care though, since in my head, he's from japan and they were very accepting of gays for the better part of the early centuries. I think they're probably somewhere in japan and the catholic had intended to convert people, but now, travelling with the buddhist, he's not so sure. (even though i'm a christian. wierd.) The two of them met as they were traveling and just sort of stuck together. you know, safety in numbers and all that. (it turns out the catholic monk needed the buddhist after all.)
actually, for names, i could see Jonathan and Koshi or Hideki. He looks like guy i met today named hideki who's buddhist...)
