I really can't hate Niels. Yes, he's a bad guy - yes, if he was a real person I'd probably loathe him...

... but I just can't dislike the man. Regardless of his shattered moral compass, I just find him so delightful to imbibe - as a great villain should be. He's not a one-dimensional monster - he's a fleshed out persona that makes all his actions so much more enjoyable, good or bad.

I know this is random and I apologise if it upsets you in any way but he reminds me so much of Edward from the Anita Blake series before it all got crazy. Don't get me wrong, they are different, it's just the overall 'I do my business and I'm good at it' think.
