As usual, don't be frightned. It's all just FemDom fantasy fodder and should not be taken serious. I you want a fantasy series where men treat women worse than this, read Gor.
The female dominated cultures we've met to far in the series, though the shieldmaidens aren't overly dominating, but more like a normal bossy wife. There are more, but they haven't been around yet.
Amazon They are all about fighting and making deals with other cultures, so of course they don't have time to do any work themselves. Men are usually collected from cultures who are not on their friends list and made to do the house work, so when the amazones say "husband" they kinda just mean "housekeeper" because a sexual relationship isn't required. Good genes means everything to them, so amazons who has husbands they don't want children with might still have sex with them and chew some leaves afterwards that insure they won't get pregnant. Each amazon village has a few breeders, the highest ranking men who are good warriors and will hopefully make strong amazons who the women breed with, and are replaced for the next generation. This does not mean the death of the men. They might simply get other jobs or are freed if they have served well and want to leave.
Dark Elves They don't even have a word for husband, only concubine. While female dark elves are not below getting friskey with their servants, thanks to their own magical version of birth control they make sure to only breed with their concubines. They sometimes think it's fun to take men from other races into their household, but they are a called pets and have no social status. Male dark elves think of their own role in the society the same way upper class women did in the Victorian era. If you ask them if they wouldn't like to have more control of their own lives they will respond with horror at the very idea "A man's most important role is to serve his woman and enjoy it, and the women are doing us a favor by helping us to control our urges. Who knows what we would do without our women. Discipline is not one of men's strengths"
Shieldmaiden and Northerner Their society is very much inspired by the Viking society. Here's a fun little video that explains how it worked between men and women [link] Shieldmaidens and northerners live together, fight together, and well, do everything together, so they might as well go under one shared name and just call each other men and women, but they insist they are two different people who just have a very good deal going. Monogamy is not required in a Shieldmaiden/Northerner marriage, and they're not awesome at birth control so it often happens that the wife gets pregnant with an outsider. But not to worry, because they consider all boys born by a shieldmaiden to be a northerner, so even if the real father shows up the husband will say "The boy was born by my wife, so I claim him as mine. Now fuck off" and if the father kills the husband to get his child back, the other northerners will still see the child as one of them and get it back. This means inbreeding is not a problem they have to worry about. And yes, northerners are notorious for fighting naked if the weather allows it.
I would have liked to add barbarians because I think they are a lot of fun, but they're not female dominated. They just have some pretty scary women.
but amazons were real... sure they were not giants like some guys told their people to not look that bad at the fact they lost to a woman but they were as real as the vikings and pirates (like sir francis drake)
Actually while there were warrior women and there could even have been roving bands of marauder women history has shown no primarily warrior female culture to have ever existed, least of all one that fit among the amazon ideal. In fact the idea of amazons came from drawings of battling warrior women on Greek vases, in modern times with careful analysis we have determined that not only did they not exist as a culture, these drawings were more Greek porn than anything.
ummm, using an urn to masturbate... gack, why did i took crafting disturbing mental image when i leveled up? >.<
just kidding, well, amazons might not have been an all women matriarcal type of society and include men in the flock, but even the most versed in history gotta admit there would be at least one clan dominated by women were men were used as seed providers (if not in europe, maybe in south america), i doubt the vikings were the only ones with that system
Can't be all bad, atleast you didn't drop all your skill ranks into Knowledge: random lol (also ten nerd points to you for the craft joke XD. )
Well according to random Internet info supposedly they existed in Asia Minor (if they existed in South America the Greeks would have never known as South America was not discovered until much later) but even then there is no proof at all any such tribe existed. Factually they were an ideal brought about in stories from a culture of weak men and submissive women, they thought a controlling strong dominant woman to be an ideal. As such vases and the like we're made about what they saw as a primitive location which could contain brutal and strong primitive people. I will have to research the Viking thing (though apparently norweigans take offence if you call them that, I Learned this by asking a Germanic Norwegian about any Viking ancesstry.)
Did I jump up and down in a happy dance when I heard the words "shield-maiden" in the new promo for vikings and actually knew what it was thanks to this? Why yes, yes I did
I would really love you to dedicate a whole series to this one! I want to see the slave and amazon develop, and have more funny from the dark elves. I really love your relationship studies.
