To family or not to family by humon To family or not to family by humon

Why is it that every time I talk with gay men they end up talking about having kids? Lesbians don't talk that much about children! :XD:

Agent 300's dark secret is that he doesn't know how to do housework because his family always had people to do the dirty work, and seeing 250 do it makes him feel useless. ^^;

XD As to an earlier comment, I also would like to know, Why aren't women allowed to do "woman" things anymore D: I love doing all that junk. Except vacuuming. Fortunately, my boyfriend likes vacuuming and I've trained him to at-least rinse his dishes.

I don't mond doing dishes, laundry, and other house-work women aren't supposed to do any more because of equality and all that noise, but whatever person I wind up being in relationship with or married to will have to deal with the fact that I-DON'T-FOLD-CLOTHES.

Yeah, why is that? I thought women, straight or not, would love to have kids. And yet gay guys have and talk about kids all the time. Lesbians just play it off for some reason or something.

Here's the reason, to quote Carol Burnett: "If you want to know what childbirth feels like, take your bottom lip and pull it over your head." :eyepopping:

Gay men don't have to push 'em out. :XD:

I wouldnt mind having a child but, do I really want a child that COMES FROM MY BODY? I can always adopt, I dont think I want to help bring a kid into this world because of the overpopulation problem and another reason, my family members on my mother's side have Autism as well as other problems, I dont want to have a child with the same problems as I do, Im autistic bTW

I think there is more pressure on men to continue their family line since they pass on their names. Women have to change their names when they marry so it might not matter so much.

What part of USA do you live in? Where I'm from we usually mix the last names. :XD:

:iconbaboonfan:

In the Midwest, in Chicago. Traditionally women will take their husband's last name, but in the last decade the use of hyphens have become more popular. In that case the names will be joined, for example, John Smith and Nancy Drew will become John and Nancy Drew-Smith. Personally I think this can get ridiculous after awhile. What if Nancy and John's kid marries someone with a hyphened name? Then they'd have a 4 part last name, Smythe-Johnson-Drew-Smith. By mixing the last names do you mean that you take parts of the names and form one name? Like Nancy Drew and John Smith would become Nancy and John Smew or Drith?

No, I mean they will use one name as the last name and the other as a middle name. Or use the middle name of one person and the last name of the other. But I'm pretty sure what the baby's last name will be doesn't enter into most people's decision on whatever or not to have children.

I think that it may have to do with the notion of family lines. When you're the last man in your family you have the pressure of carrying on your family's name. If a man doesn't have kids then that line will end. The idea that part of you will live on through your last name and you will achieve a bit of immortality. Or perhaps men think more about it because they're not the ones that have to carry and birth the babies.

I'm a lesbian and sometimes talk about having children :) Though usually its arguing over if we do it which one will do the whole pregnancy thing.
...
I think adoption is more likely

It may be because Lesbians might have the "childbirth is painful and kids are annoying" mentality, regardless of whether adoption is an option or not. But hey, I'm not a Lesbian, so I don't know.

Because it couldn't result by accident OR by design without a third party. and, can I say this, almost ALL the appeal for guys to have kids is getting miniature thems that they can warp like clay as they grow up. Insert gay hairdresser stereotype joke.

I think it's because lesbians can have their own children biologically, but men would have to adopt or hire a surrogate mother.
