I'm that weird ambiguous size where I'm lucky if I can fit into the biggest size they have in normal clothing stores, and even luckier if I can fit the smalles size in the fat lady stores. And despite being chubby I don't have breasts the size of my head so big clothes often looks weird on me even when it fits otherwise.
The idea for the comic came from when after looking for clothes in a normal store and finding nothing that fit, went to one of the fat lady stores and the woman said, "I'm sorry, but I think you're just not fat enough to shop here" after I had tried on a million different things.
By the way, the first dress I'm wearing in the comic is supposed to be one of those classic flower-print summer dresses which I failed horribly at coloring.
EDIT: Haha! No one has ever said "Get out you're too [...]" to me. I made them say that for joke effect. Neither am I sad that she told me I wasn't fat enough to shop there. Made me quite happy actually. It just made it a pain to find clothes. So you don't have to try and cheer me up. This is supposed to be funny!
I don't necessarily have the same problem, but due to having pretty broad shoulders for my height (5'10), I have to buy XL shirts, or I tear the sleeves. Kinda awkward.
I run into this problem all the time in stores... I have large thighs, a big bum and broad shoulders, but a small waist and i'm tall. So I often need plus sized pants, but normal sized shirts that come in at the waist... Thank goodness for the internet having a wider availability of clothes that I like than the stores!
That totally describes me- fortunately, I've lost a little weight, but for the most of my teen to young adult years, I've hovered right around 12-14. Add that to the fact that NO ONE seems to think that an fashion industry wide size standard or stlye proportions (a bootcut here is fine, but there not so much) might make sense leaves my flitting most times from store to store to complete an outfit (except for walmart...but they only have so much I care to buy from them . :l)
Here's to hoping that getting to a size 10 will be better. :l
same here! I'm in the upper sizes of the "normal" women's clothing (14 to 16 USA sizes, depending on the brand) and the legs of all the pants that fit my waist are TOO LONG and I can't afford to get them tailored
and i have this super weird thing where my torso is long and my legs are short so pants are a bitttccchh
Here's to hoping that getting to a size 10 will be better. :l
Also, great work as always. ;D
