Inspired by this song “Welcome Home”
[link] A duet between the Norwegian soprano, Sissel Kyrkjebø, and the Danish pop/rock singer Poul Krebs.
It’s a reinterpretation of the English song ”Never Alone”.
The picture was just the first image that popped into my head when I head the song, but I like the man/woman version because it sounds like a mother and father talking to their child.
A rough translation:
(Woman)
I want the angles to see you
And that everything good will happen to you
The road you walk on will lead you home
I wish your glass will be full
And that people will praise you in song
And the dream and the road will lead you on
(Man)
May you, when it counts, get the right strength
So you easily can master the wildest steam
May golden moments give you minutes of wonder
I will stay here an wait
You’re welcome home
(Woman)
Welcome home, Welcome home
You can stay for as long as you like
You’re welcome home
I know you have to go, but remember what I said
You'll still be here in my heart and you’re welcome home
(Man)
But you will have to tackle and stumble and stagger
And fight with longing in wind and rain
(Woman)
And when the darkness wants to take you
Own you and have you, come here behind the hillside
You’re welcome home
(Both)
Welcome home, Welcome home
You can stay for as long as you like
You’re welcome home
I know you have to go
But remember what I said
You'll still be here in my heart and you’re welcome home
+ even if the song is really nice too, it reminds me a lot of really popular lullaby in Finland: Sunshine and the goblin.
