Some quick "His Last Vow" thoughts. Spoilers if you haven't seen it yet.

Still love Mary. Shooting Sherlock probably wasn't the best way to get out of the situation, but well, turns out she's a hitman so no wonder her first response to things like this would be shooting someone. She's a lot of things I like in a female character. She's fun, she can kick ass, yet not in a "macho fighting fucktoy" way. She's recognizable as a woman, and not just as a character written as a man then changed into a woman for the screen (a method used rather often because a lot of writers don't know how else to give a female character depth)

Lars Mikkelsen was brilliant as Charles Augustus Magnussen. He played a character whom Holmes despise more than any other person in the world, the closest thing book canon comes to pure evil, and Mikkelsen nailed it. I didn't even want to punch Magnussen in the face because the thought of making any kind of skin to skin contact with him creeped me out.

And finally, I really truly hope that is not the real Moriaty. Please let it be someone using his image. He was a great villain and I like how he is part of Sherlock's mind, but this cheapens his character for me. He had such a great ending. Bringing him back makes this feel like Supernatural to me where death has no consequence and characters seemingly dies left and right and it's just going to turn into one big joke.

Edit: Also, it amuses me that Sherlock has "normal porn interests" because one character was shown to have "no porn interests". He's a character who's sexuality or lack thereof could never truly surprise me, though if he wasn't asexual he was at least in the less sexual end of the spectrum, so everything with his "girlfriend" made me incredibly uncomfortable just because it was a LOT of sexuality he suddenly dumped on us (and John). When it later turned out they never had sex (though some fondling was probably involved if taking showers together was normal) I let out a mental breath I didn't know I had been holding. Supposed that's why I like his "normal porn interests" It seems so mild comparing to what I thought he was getting up to.

1. LOVED our countryman Lars Mikkelsen! SO creepy and so a proof that we can produce great actors *cough* Mads Mikkelsen *cough* Viggo Mortensen *cough cough*

2. About the Moriarty thing, I was thinking maybe it's Moriarty from "beyond the grave", in the sense that maybe he is the one responsible, but still in fact dead. Maybe he installed some computer thing that should activate after a certain amount of time if he hadn't interrupted it, so he could always rest assured that even if he were to die, he would still be able to mess with Sherlock? That just seems like somebody like Moriarty would get his kicks by doing..

3. Mary still kicks ass, she is just perfect for both John and Sherlock.. We all know you can't have one without the other and she just accepts that! <3

I was hoping the same thing about Moriarty but I'm not sure because from the way he shot himself, there would have been a lot more blood, and brain and skull matter, but maybe they didn't want to overdo it or something.

I uh. I kind of didn't like how John called Sherlock a psychopath? It might not matter that much but... I thought he'd be adamant that Sherlock isn't. Like, in the earlier episodes, he said something about Asperger's, and I was like, yes John. You are literally the only one that doesn't call him a psychopath. It seems like he doesn't care as much as he used to, after the whole thing in the Sign of Three where he totally let it slide when Sherlock talked about how terrible he was. He could have said "thank you Sherlock but you don't have to change for me" or something. Why let him think that he has to go off on how much of a burden he is for John to be his friend? Not good.

Anyway, I have a really really strong headcanon that Sherlock is asexual (not necessarily aromantic but also possibly), so that was kind of reaaaally weird to me. But appARENTLY SOMEONE cough Moffat cough thinks that asexual Sherlock just "wouldn't be interesting."

I love the Mary turn of events but like??? she shot ur best friend and ur ok with that??? i mean im glad he forgave her sort of but that was really quick after he almost died??? I'm starting to get jealous for Sherlock bc John ur ignoring him (honestly I'm just too set on Johnlockary to see Sherlock so left out and sad). But I still adore Mary. She is my queen.

Also, in the Sign of Three, CAM? She got that ominous telegram at the wedding from someone named Cam, which are Magnussen's initials.

*MILD SPOILERS*

I agree with you about bring Moriarty back. I will be upset if he's not truly dead. Not because I hated his character, quite the opposite. I loved Moriarty's character, and how Andrew Scott played him, but I will be disappointed if they somehow bring him back.

And I do still love Mary. I love her because she isn't evil or a villain, she was simply scared. And like you said she is a former hit man, what did you think her first response was going to be? I also love how Sherlock set up clues for John to figure out about Mary, plus what they did with John pretending to be Sherlock's pretend self was great. And Martin is such a good actor that I truly believed he was pissed off and sad throughout that whole scene.

Also, I think the fact that we got to see The Holmes family was great. Sherlock and Mycroft's parents were so normal, it was unexpected(at least to me it was), but I liked how normal they were. The fact that the woman and man playing The Holmes parents were actually Benedict's parents is my favorite thing ever. Another note about Mrs. Holmes, the fandom is always saying how powerful Myrcoft is and how he is basically the British Government, but oh boy! When his mother asks if he's smoking, he hides his cigarette so fast! It just goes to show, a mother is a mother no mater who you are.

Overall, the episode was good, it could have been better, but I rate it a 8/10.

Moffat has a history of non-meaningful deaths, though. No-one dies. So whilst I agree with your sentiments, I'm not holding much hope for a properly dead Moriarty

My comment will contain spoilers. people have been warned!

First of all I am a huge fan of the books. and I actually liked the show for a long time. However I agree with you.

I Try to be an understanding person in this fandom, knowing many of the viewers are very young and have possible not read the books. however I do think that Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat needs to stop feeding the fangirls and start to realist this is a TV show for a wide audience. There is more then just fangirls watching this, Fans of the old books and works, general crime interests ect.

I agree that Moriarty should NOT come back, he should be dead in the fall as in the books. doing this ruins it for me, that is if he comes back. I don't mind adjustments from the books. but for Mark and Steven to call them minor is getting ridiculous.

Three things I dislike about the new season is as follows. 1# Baby. A baby have nowhere to belong in the Sherlock universe if you ask me, stop it. 2# Sherlocks sexual appeal, he should remain neutral on that area as in the books. It was never proven what sexuality he was, but he didn't end up with a partner. 3# If Molly ends up with Sherlock i'm simply so done. I love molly as a character but if this turns into some emotional romantic how-i-met-your-mother-meets-cis. then i'm simply done. And BBC Sherlock have been a part of my life for a very long long long time. I am a Sherlock Holmes obsesses fan, with all it's aspects, especially the granada BBC show. But then again *shrugs* It can't end up as bad as Elementry where the only sherlock about the show is the names, and then again now even because they merge characters and the fun title because Sherlock never ever actually said "Elementry my dear Watson."  In the books.

Heh….It's just… Old style Sherlock please come back, don't do like so many other tv shows and fuck this up while it was getting good.

I wonder if perhaps the bit with Moriarty wasn't staged by Mycroft in order to have a way to keep Sherlock from being sent off to, by Mycroft's own assessment, very likely die in six months.

And I agree, the situation with Sherlock's 'girlfriend' was quite uncomfortable-making. Benedict Cumberbatch did, as always, a truly magnificent job showing us just how much (and how well!) Sherlock was faking it, though.

I just now got around to watching this, and I can't agree more. Mary is such a great female character with depth unlike most females in television. I really wish Moriarty is dead for good. The logistics of him being alive just don't make sense, and bringing him back seems almost like they've run out of ideas. A copycat is very plausible, and the preferred villain.

I'm pretty sure they are going to pull Moran playing everyone's strings for next season, I mean yes it's a modern rendition on the series but they do keep some key components.

I agree with your thoughts on Moriarty. Bringing him back would ruin the impact of his death. Personally, I think it is the rest of Moriarty's "web", being headed by Sebastian Moran.   It would make the most sense, and help tie back into the story.

Not sure if it's actually Moriarity or not, though I doubt it. He was too sassy a villain to use just a simple picture, if anything he would've done what he did at the end of the credits. I like Mary as a character, though I can't help but feel like something is going to happen to her and the baby...
